Among the participants were students from various faculties of the university, who presented 3D models of characters and parts of a game level developed in Unity. The elective course included 26 sessions and lasted two and a half months.

The organizer of the elective, Professor of the Department of Computer Engineering and Programming at NTU "KhPI", Associate Professor Olga Kozina, says that the goal of the event is to evaluate and expand the capabilities of students and schoolchildren: "Creating computer games is a very complex task. And in this elective, we touched upon only two parts: creating 3D models and programming levels," she noted.

In addition, KhPI Associate Professor Olga Kozina believes that such a project provides an opportunity for participants to meet different people. "It is necessary to create an environment where students from completely different fields can communicate. You know, for startups and in such complex projects, it is important to find a team. One person is the bearer of the idea, but rarely can they do everything. They need comrades who will help with various skills. It also allows you to build a portfolio," says Professor of the Department of Computer Engineering and Programming Olga Kozina.

According to the organizers, 67 people participated in this course, most of whom were first-year students of KhPI. The elective consisted of intensive sessions — five hours of lecture and practical material per week, as well as homework. Such a busy schedule and the complexity of the tasks "weeded out" a number of participants, and 16 people reached the final.

Thus, the trainers chosen were master's students of the Faculty of Computer and Information Technologies of NTU "KhPI", Maksym Savychev and Ihor Prokopyev, who had previously participated in other projects and are already professionals in their field. They noted that all participants coped well with the tasks, even though there were representatives of specialties among them who were not familiar with this field.

The second trainer and 6th-year student of KhPI, Ihor Prokopyev, notes that this is a new level of development for students: "The project was divided into two parts. In the first, students learned to make 3D models and animate them, and in the second, to implement them into a game. It was pleasant to see when someone assembled levels, and not just the ones we did in class, but supplemented them with something of their own," he said.

Participant and 2nd-year student of the Faculty of Computer and Information Technologies of NTU "KhPI", Anna Semenova, shared that the elective helped her develop in the field of design: "I liked it very much. It is interesting to create low- and high-poly 3D models and implement ideas. I had a dinosaur that collected keys to open doors to pass to a new level. We wrote various 'engines' for the movement of the dinosaurs and figures on our level. Thanks to the trainers, everything worked out very well, and we managed to do everything," said student Anna.

1st-year student of the Faculty of Computer and Information Technologies of KhPI, Ihor Rudakov, noted that the elective developed his skills as a designer and programmer: "I have been interested in computer games for a very long time. But courses are paid, and it wasn't always possible to combine them with school studies. And here, besides the fact that they are free, they are also informative," said Ihor.
