Today, March 7, 2018, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the IT Ukraine Association. In particular, the joint work of the Ministry of Education and Science and the Association will be aimed at creating a modern educational environment, introducing effective regulation of the educational technology market, and promoting the development of digital competencies and e-learning in society.

"Today, digital educational technologies are gaining immense popularity. They help create interactive and engaging materials for students, ensure access to quality education, allow teachers to improve their qualifications remotely, and open up new opportunities for lifelong learning," said Minister of Education and Science Liliia Hrynevych.

One of the central projects in which the Association's experts will be involved is the creation of an electronic educational platform and the development of the electronic textbook market. In addition, members of the Association will be able to participate in creating an effective system for collecting and analyzing statistics on information and computer technologies in Ukrainian education.

"The Ukrainian IT industry, like other sectors of the creative economy, is a knowledge-based industry. Therefore, the introduction of modern technologies into the educational process and simplifying access to sources of knowledge are extremely important priority steps that will contribute to the formation of a new cohort of highly educated specialists not only for the IT industry but also for other sectors of the economy," commented Oleksandr Kubrakov, Executive Director of the IT Ukraine Association.

Recall that representatives of the IT Ukraine Association took an active part in the development of the Concept of the National Educational Electronic Platform and two conceptual documents – the draft Order "On Approval of the Regulation on Electronic Textbooks" and the draft Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers "On the National Electronic Platform", which are currently posted for public discussion on the Ministry of Education and Science website.
