Free computer game development courses for ATO participants, unemployed citizens, and internally displaced persons will be held at the university. This was discussed during the information day of the EU Erasmus+ K2 project "GameHub: University-Enterprises Cooperation in Game Industry in Ukraine." Among those present at the meeting were many who wished to become students of the courses – both young people and those of retirement age.

We remind you that the GameHub project has been implemented at the university since October 15, 2015, and will continue until October 14, 2018. The international project consortium includes, in particular, 6 Ukrainian universities (Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Odessa National Polytechnic University, National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute," Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, Kherson National Technical University, and Donetsk National Technical University). The University of Deusto (Spain) acts as the grant holder. The main goal of the GameHub project is cooperation between universities and enterprises of the gaming industry, promoting increased human investment in the development of the IT business in Ukraine.

"Within the framework of this project, it is planned, in particular, to develop courses for the unemployed, ATO participants, and internally displaced persons so that these people, if they have lost their previous job or decided to change their profession, have the opportunity to try something new and realize themselves in the future. These courses are a pilot project and are currently free," said Lyubov Ziniuk, head of the university's project management department. During the presentation of the course program, she also noted that classes will begin on February 12 and will last for 2 months.

Students of the free courses within the program will attend 5 theoretical lectures and 20 practical sessions. Vitaliy Gorelov, associate professor of the Department of Informatics and head of the project's academic group, said that training will begin with the simplest games. "We have developed 4 directions for course participants – fundamentals of computer game development, computer game development technology, fundamentals of creating sound and musical accompaniment for computer games, and project management," he said.

The classes will be conducted by university lecturers who are highly professional specialists in these areas. Computer games will be developed in 2D format. They can be run on various platforms – personal computers, mobile phones, etc. All course participants will receive a corresponding certificate signed by the project partners and its grant holder.

After the presentation of the program, the meeting participants visited the GameLabPNU educational laboratory for game software development, which was created at the university and equipped with specialized equipment for computer game development using EU project funds. Future course participants had the opportunity to register immediately.
