Continuation of free training sessions for schoolchildren "Designing Educational Computer Games", ONPU, January 11-12, 2018.

ONPU_10_12_3On January 11-12, the Institute of Computer Systems of the Odessa National Polytechnic University continued free training sessions for schoolchildren on "Designing Educational Computer Games" as part of the Erasmus+ KA2 project "GameHub: University-Enterprise Cooperation in the Game Industry in Ukraine" (No. 561728-EPP-1-2015-1-ES-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP).

On January 11, trainer Tetyana Luhova, Associate Professor of the Department of Document Science and Information Activity at ONPU, told the students about the basics of design, not only for computer games, focusing on such topics as:
– game mechanics and dynamics;
– the difference between game rules and play rules;
– game balance and game levels.

ONPU_10_12_4Before starting project work in teams, the students were invited to play the "six frogs" math puzzle together, which the GameHub-ONPU team members learned about from the GameHub-AGH team
Katarzyna Zofia Gdowska during a visit to Krakow at the end of November. The goal of the game was to get the participants into a collaborative team mindset.

Each of the team members gave a short presentation of their project, which concluded with a joint discussion using Edward de Bono's "Six Thinking Hats" method.
