From June 3 to 7, the third training session under the EU Erasmus+ international program project "Digital University – Open Ukrainian Initiative" (DigiUni) was held at the University of Alicante, a European partner of the consortium.

The University of Alicante was established in October 1979 based on the Center for University Studies. Currently, about 40,000 students study at the university. The university has prioritized digital transformation, sustainability, equal opportunities, and the improvement of higher education and scientific research.
Welcoming remarks were delivered by DigiUni project manager at the University of Alicante Mario Guillo, Director of Institutional Relations and Projects Juan Llopis, and Director of the Institutional Project Management Office Carolina Madeleine. They noted that each university has its own unique experience within the DigiUni project. The project is extremely relevant, as the idea of creating an entire ecosystem and the effort to unite not only Ukrainian universities but also to build bridges with other European universities is a response to current challenges. Such an ecosystem is key; it expands to other European universities and provides more opportunities for students and faculty.
The training was dedicated to issues of intellectual property and licensing in the field of education and the development of an internal intellectual property policy within the DigiUni project. A meeting was also held with the Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation of the University of Alicante, Rafael Molina, where a presentation on the university's digital transformation experience was given, along with an introduction to the UACloud platform and the KhipuLearn project. A tour of the university campus was conducted for the Ukrainian project partners.
The training program continued with presentations of training programs for University of Alicante faculty and educational projects such as T4EU - "Transforming for Europe," Digital Village, and MEEBAI. Participants were also presented with training programs for University of Alicante faculty and educational projects such as T4EU - "Transforming for Europe," Digital Village, and MEEBAI.
"Getting acquainted with the university's IT infrastructure and ongoing projects is a wonderful experience and a foundation for building a national digital platform," noted Serhii Bronin, the project coordinator from Ukraine (Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv).
Consultation meetings between partners were also held for each work package of the DigiUni project.
The training participants are sincerely grateful to the University of Alicante team for their high professionalism, warm welcome, and willingness to share their experience to improve higher education.
