Olena Chaikovska introduced the attendees to a new project, “Digital University — Open Ukrainian Initiative,” which is being implemented under the European Union’s Erasmus+ program. The main goal of the project is to create a unified digital educational ecosystem that will provide continuous, high-quality, inclusive, and transparent education that can be obtained regardless of location, using digital innovations in the educational field. The project consortium includes 10 Ukrainian universities, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance, as well as foreign partner universities and associations from EU member states, including France, Germany, Spain, the Czech Republic, and Poland. The UniDigi project is extremely relevant in the context of martial law and the post-war recovery of Ukraine. This project will make it possible to unite Ukrainian universities into an ecosystem to overcome key challenges and the consequences of Russia's invasion of Ukraine through digital technologies with the support of the EU.
