On February 10–11, 2026, the All-Ukrainian online course "Media Literacy and Digital Security" took place, bringing together educators, specialists, and everyone striving to feel confident in the modern information environment within a shared educational space. In total, 270 participants from various regions of Ukraine joined the training.

The event was held in support of the European digital initiative Safer Internet Day, which focuses on creating a safe, ethical, and inclusive digital environment. Every year, this global initiative unites millions of participants in over 180 countries, calling for increased digital awareness and the promotion of responsible internet use.

The NGO "Ukrainian Association of IT Professionals" acted as a partner of the event, providing expert support, engaging specialists, and facilitating the exchange of practical tools and modern approaches to digital security. The organization's partnership was a significant contribution to the substance and practical focus of the course.

UAFIT President Serhii Bronin addressed the course participants with a welcoming speech, noting: "Today, technologies are not just tools; they are the environment in which we live, work, and raise future generations. However, along with incredible opportunities, digitalization has brought new challenges. AI fakes, sophisticated online fraud, and waves of disinformation have become part of our daily lives. That is why our goal is not just to teach how to use gadgets, but to form a resilient 'digital immunity.' I am confident that our strength lies in synergy. Because it is impossible to overcome digital threats alone. The true resilience of the state and society is built on a solid foundation of cooperation: the civil sector, professional IT communities, business, and education."

In honor of Safer Internet Day, course participants had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of key aspects of digital literacy and receive practical tools to help strengthen information security in their professional and daily lives.

The program focused on issues that shape modern digital culture:

  • digital ethics and responsible use of technology;
  • disinformation and information influence;
  • digital security, user rights, and cyberbullying;
  • online fraud and data protection;
  • social networks, algorithms, and their impact on behavior;
  • fact-checking, recognizing manipulation, and countering AI fakes.

The course was practice-oriented: interactive discussions, analysis of real-life cases, examination of examples from the information space, practical tasks, and the exchange of experience among participants. This created active dynamics and ensured the practical consolidation of knowledge.

We thank the organizers and partners of the course:

  • State Scientific Institution "Institute of Education Content Modernization" of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine
  • NGO "Agency for Sustainable Development and Educational Initiatives"
  • NGO "Rotary Academy of Ukrainian Culture and Art"

We thank all participants for their activity and motivation!
