On April 25, at the Sixth International Conference of Students and Young Scientists "Modern Information Technologies 2016", an information day was held for the Erasmus+ KA2 project "GameHub: University-Enterprise Cooperation in Game Industry in Ukraine".As previously reported in the news (http://opu.ua/news/1236), the sixth international scientific conference of students and young scientists "Modern Information Technologies 2016" was successfully held at ONPU from April 25 to 27.
For many years, the conference has served as a platform for:
– demonstrating the results of young scientists;
– educational events to introduce students to modern information technologies.
Therefore, at the beginning of the conference, plenary reports by leading experts and university professors were presented, the last three of which were devoted to the Erasmus+ KA2 project "GameHub: University-Enterprise Cooperation in Game Industry in Ukraine" (number 561728-EPP-1-2015-1-ES-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP), specifically the results of the training meeting that took place at the University of Deusto (Spain) from April 11 to 15, 2016 (http://ics.opu.ua/news/1256).
It is known that for a computer game to turn into a product that is in demand among consumers, it is necessary to involve specialists from the following areas in the game creation process:
– screenwriting and animation film directing;
– human-computer interaction design;
– computer graphics and sound;
– programming;
– computer game marketing.
Therefore, this process is already being used in many universities around the world as a tool to motivate schoolchildren and students who like to play "non-serious" games to study "serious" disciplines in these areas.
The plenary report contained presentations describing:
– the GameHub project (speaker O.A. Blazhko, Associate Professor of the Department of System Software);
– the MakeWorld instrumental environment (https://makeworld.eu) for competency-based learning of younger students in the basics of STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) (speaker V.M. Ruvinska, Associate Professor of the Department of System Software);

– the WiMi5 instrumental environment (http://wimi5.com) for visual construction of Web 2D games with automatic generation of program code based on HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, which is stored on the Chrome Web Store with the possibility of further monetization of games (speaker V.V. Antonyuk, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Computer Intellectual Systems and Networks).
Among those present at the conference, a survey was conducted on the topic of the computer game creation industry.
Selected results from processing 74 questionnaires are presented in the photograph in the form of statistics: students' knowledge of programming languages, their use of graphic environments, their prior familiarity with the game creation process, and their assessment of their own future employment prospects in this field.
The GameHub project team invites teachers and students to future cooperation!
